What we publish
Two streams under one masthead. Operators is for the people building better-for-you CPG brands: retail-media teardowns, shelf-to-spend attribution, and the distribution math behind moving from DTC to grocery. The Aisle is for the people buying: editor-led shortlists of the products actually worth your money, with the same shelf literacy. The chain runs from ad dollar to register, and we cover both ends of it.
Who writes for us
Vino sits at the masthead and writes the Operators stream for the first ninety days, drawing on a decade of paid-acquisition and retail-media work. The Aisle is led by a team of editors and writers who buy and test on their own dime. Named contributors join the masthead as they sign on. No anonymous round-ups, no AI-spun filler.
What we cover
US and Canadian food and beverage brands in their first decade on shelf. Wellness and beverage-led brands are the leading edge of what we cover; food-anchored brands are the spine. We profile a brand when there is something specific to learn from it: a distribution decision, an ingredient choice, a founder thesis, a retail-media result worth dissecting. We do not cover restaurants, supplements, or pet food.
How we pick brands
Brand picks come from shelf scouting and reader tips, not pitch inboxes. A brand cannot buy a Maple Made profile or a Brand Breakdown slot. We do not accept payment, gifted product, or trade for editorial coverage. When sponsored editorial runs, it is labeled in partnership with at the top, bottom, and every product mention, and it never appears on shortlists, comparisons, or gift guides.
Fact-check and corrections
Every brand profile is checked against primary sources: founder interviews, public filings, retailer listings, ingredient panels, and the brand's own materials. Claims we cannot source get cut, not softened. If we publish something wrong, we correct it inline with a dated note and leave the original error visible.
Our standards
- We disclose affiliate links. Every Aisle post that earns a commission says so at the top, not buried in the footer.
- Sponsored editorial is firewalled. Partner content is labeled "In partnership with" at the top, bottom, and every product mention, and never appears on shortlists, comparisons, or gift guides.
- No display ads. We do not run banner inventory.
- No paywall. The work is free to read.
- Editorial integrity firewall. Operators content never carries affiliate links. That side stays analysis, not commerce.
